Dove
Dove is a specialized form created to assist in the conditioning of mind, body and soul. Derived from martial based movements but practiced in a much slower and controlled fashion, this form truly offers excellent benefits. The form is carried out with a true feeling of focus towards relaxation and inner peace.
The controlled movements help to focus the mind while the breathing exercises within Dove help with many internal functions and coordination. The breathing exercises are focused through “CHI” energy to focus the inner forces in a positive direction. The form consists of mainly slow movement but also has the occasional sharp release of energy into a focused direction at key points within the form.
Another aim of Dove is to foster a calm and tranquil mind, focused on the precise execution of these exercises. Learning to perform them correctly provides a practical avenue for learning about such things as balance, alignment, fine-scale motor control, rhythm of movement, the genesis of movement from the body’s vital center, and so on. The ongoing practice of Dove can in some measure contribute towards better posture which in turn helps with better stance, walk, run and other movements. Furthermore the meditative nature of the form is calming and relaxing in and of itself.
This truly wonderful form is an excellent way to unwind and help to release the stresses in our daily lives.

I didn’t know that.
